John EikCaffery

I am a Scottish filmaker with a range of experience, from 5 years running boutique production company EikCaffery Creative in Scotland, to operating as a DoP on several films for BBC Ideas – including a Webby Award-winning short doc. I have extensive experience as a camera operator across BBC documentaries, livestreams and rock concerts, filming everything from My Chemical Romance to Scotland’s First Minister at the COP26 Climate conference, and I am a skilled drone pilot with hundreds of hours behind the control sticks. In Norway I frequently collaborate with established Sauda-based production house Portal Norge, and I recently shot a major project for Lysefjorden Utvikling, highlighting the many tourism offerings available in one of Norway’s most iconic locations. I am especially interested in work that involves being out-and-about in nature – when I’m not working I am making the most of my passion for frilufstliv, topptur, and exploring the Norwegian wilderness.
